Nordec Mood
Good Morning Fridgeir,
I was hoping we could perhaps begin planning and work on the
little project I mentioned to you a few weeks but involving your work/life. Now
the piece is only able to be six minutes long but still I plan to show your
photos exclusively and plan a bit of narration to help the audience catch up:
As an example this paragraph from an article about you:
Born a
fisherman's son on an island off the coast of Iceland, Friðgeir Helgason's
life has been anything but ordinary. At the age of six, his family's home was
destroyed in a volcanic eruption. As a high school student, he excelled on a
national quiz show. The prize was a short trip to Europe presented by the
Icelandic prime minister. Airplane ticket in hand, Friðgeir took a few days off
from school, left, and never came back. In the years that followed, Friðgeir
traveled the world before settling in New Orleans where he worked as a chef for
some of the city's best restaurants. In 2004, his personal life collapsed, and
he found himself living in a cardboard box on LA's Skid Row. After checking
himself into the Midnight Mission, Friðgeir got his life back on track and
studied cinematography at Los Angeles City College, which lead him to his true
calling: photography.
The Southern Mood
We may change a few words here and there but this will bring
us up and through how you came to be at LACC and the impact it had on your life
and even ability to really love again. So this little video could be named “Return
to LACC-The Nordic Mood” or
something like that but I want your images to be the most prominent
component and then tell the story around it. I am applying for
permission to Film on the LACC grounds hopefully in the next few weeks we may
even get one or two of your instructors to take park. So what do you think, are
you ready for something like that??
